As of 01/01/2019, the law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) has added three of its colleagues to the partnership. A further nine partners counsel were appointed to strengthen the law firm’s extended management team.

Dr. Tigran Heymann, Tobias Sengenberger and Dr. Michael Weise have been elevated to partnership. Since 2009, Berlin-based lawyer Dr. Tigran Heymann has – together with partner Prof. Dr. Ines Zenke – been advising clients not only on antitrust matters. Focusing on energy-intensive industries and energy producers, he increasingly deals with matters in the field of installation-related environmental law and general energy law. Together with partner Thomas Straßer, auditor and tax advisor Tobias Sengenberger will continue to expand the Corporate Finance team in Munich. In addition to the valuation of companies, energy supply grids and generation installations, Tobias Sengenberger also specialises in advising clients on restructuring and succession planning. Dr. Michael Weise, who in 2014 changed from the Berlin office to the Stuttgart office to further expand the legal practice at this location, will also join the partnership from 2019. His specialities include the implementation and contractual design of grid access. Lawyer Dr. Weise, who is author and editor of several specialist books on digitalisation, also deals with issues regarding energy supply and the implementation of smart metering systems.
As of 01/01/2019, a further nine colleagues were promoted to partner counsel: In Munich, lawyer Matthias Brugger advises on concession law, public-private partnerships and laws governing the economic affairs of municipalities. In Berlin, lawyer Sabine Gauggel is an expert in regulatory law and left her mark, among others, in the complaints procedure against the determination of the rate of return on equity by the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur – BNetzA). Since 2018, lawyer Alexander Labus has been with BBH Munich advising international, including in particular, Spanish-speaking clients on international business law issues. In Munich, lawyer Steffen Lux is one of the insolvency experts at BBH who represents clients in numerous cases regarding the contest of debtor’s transactions in insolvency proceedings. He also advises in the area of receivables management. Lawyer Johannes Nohl, one of the protagonists in the area of gas at BBH’s Berlin office, advises clients not only on legal and regulatory issues but also on specific contract law. Stefan Mackenrodt is auditor and tax advisor at BBH Cologne. He specialises in audits of annual financial statements, the regulation of grid charges and special audits. Lawyer Dr. Anna Sachse is part of the Berlin-based concession team and advises clients on grid takeovers. Lawyer Thomas Schmeding returned to BBH in 2018 after having been employed at BBH Berlin from 2005 to 2008. In Hamburg, he advises clients predominantly on data protection and IT law and provides assistance to startups in the course of their business development. In Cologne, lawyer Silke Walzer advises clients from both the electricity and gas sectors on energy contract law and regulatory issues.
