THE BBH GROUP AND ENEKA TEAM UP TO ACCELERATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF HEAT PROJECTS

The BBH group and ENEKA Energie & Karten GmbH have agreed to cooperate to provide even more tailored support to municipalities, municipal utilities and energy cooperatives in implementing heat projects. The BBH subsidiaries BBH Consulting AG and BBH Engineering GmbH contribute the planning and engineering expertise, while ENEKA provides the digital data and analytical tools.

The collaborative framework combines the BBH group’s technical expertise in terms of planning and implementing energy infrastructure projects, heat networks and neighbourhood solutions with the digital platform of ENEKA Energie & Karten GmbH. Based on a digital twin, the ENEKA platform provides the data and foundation necessary for developing and assessing specific infrastructure measures and taking the relevant preparatory steps. The collaboration aims at assisting municipalities and supply companies in implementing projects to put municipal heat plans into practice.

The initial focus will be on specific common use cases, with the scope expanding over time. In the future, the ENEKA solution will be used to complement the BBH group’s advisory services aimed at sales-oriented energy suppliers.

“Many municipalities have already identified reference points in their municipal heat planning process. The current challenge is to devise and implement specific and economically viable projects. ENEKA’s digital analytical tools enable us to provide our clients with even better support in the future,” state Marcel Malcher, Marco Ohme and Helmut Bangert, the three managing directors of BBH Engineering GmbH.

“We are delighted to support BBH Engineering with our digital platform and the expertise gained from digitalising more than 600 municipalities in terms of energy. The combination of digital data models and expertise in the technical implementation of projects creates additional added value for municipalities and municipal utilities,” says Sebastian Megow, managing director of ENEKA Energie & Karten GmbH.

“We often observe a lack of digital interaction between the stakeholders involved in the local heat transformation. Municipalities, citizens and suppliers have to be able to communicate with each other on the platform so that it is more than a digital drawing board. Connecting the ENEKA platform with our interdisciplinary approach allows us to work together with sales-oriented municipal utilities to develop integrated, data-based solutions and services,” add Marcel Malcher and Roland Monjau, members of the BBH Consulting AG management board and BBH partners.

With more than 1,000 employees, 7,000 clients and 7 offices, the BBH group is a leading provider of advisory services to energy and infrastructure companies and their customers. Energy and supply companies, particularly public utilities, municipalities and local authorities, industrial companies and international groups are among its core clients. The BBH group assists these and many other companies and organisations with legal, business and strategic advice.
