Dr. Christian Jung

21.08.1962 München– † 03.03.2025 Bergisch Gladbach

We bid farewell to our long-time companion Dr. Christian Jung, who retired from his active professional life with BBH at the end of last year.

Dr. Christian Jung was born in Munich. After studying law and completing his Master of Laws degree in Dallas (Texas), he was admitted to the bar in New York and Düsseldorf. He received his doctorate from Augsburg university and then went on to work at Freie Universität Berlin and later at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.

In 2000, Dr. Christian Jung joined BBH as a lawyer and was made a partner in 2006. With his outstanding expertise and dedication, he significantly shaped the development of BBH. He made a lasting contribution, not least in connection with the establishment of our Cologne office. Since the first issue of the infrastructure-law journal InfrastrukturRecht in 2004, he has been editor-in-chief for transport issues. In his last two active years, he supported BBH as partner of counsel.

Dr. Christian Jung passed away on 3 March this year after a serious illness. He leaves behind his wife. Our thoughts are with his family.

With his passing, we have lost a highly valued colleague, a brilliant lawyer and a loyal companion.

In memory and gratitude

Prof. Christian Held and all colleagues at the BBH group
