BBH publishes practical handbook on energy antitrust law

Antitrust law expertise on 640 pages: BBH lawyer and antitrust law expert Dr. Holger Hoch has edited the practical handbook on energy antitrust law (Praxishandbuch zum Energiekartellrecht) in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Justus Haucap, former Chairman of the Monopolies Commission.

Antitrust law ensures that the liberalised market structures interact well together. These include not only the traditional markets at the wholesale, sales and generation level and the import markets but also extend to the new markets which emerged as a result of the energy transition and the further development of energy law, such as the competitive tenders in the area of renewable energy, the provision of recharging infrastructure for e-mobility, the generation of offshore energy and the operation of metering stations via smart meters which is decoupled from grid operation.

In their practical handbook, BBH lawyer Dr. Holger Hoch and renowned economist Prof. Dr. Justus Haucap give an overview of all areas in the energy sector in which antitrust law plays a central role and also examine the antitrust regulations in relation to other relevant pieces of (energy) legislation. Thanks to an interdisciplinary team of authors with long-standing practical experience, readers are offered a comprehensive volume on energy antitrust law.
