BBH GROUP ADVISES ON SALE OF STEINMEYER’S DAMAGE RESTORATION DIVISION TO A SUBSIDIARY OF AQUA GROUP: BUSINESS SUCCESSION IN THE SME SECTOR SUCCESSFULLY ARRANGED

The BBH group guided the company Steinmeyer Sanierungen in finding a strategic solution to ensure an orderly business succession. The restoration business was sold to Steinmeyer Schadenmanagement GmbH, a subsidiary of AQUA Group GmbH, by way of an asset deal. The transaction secures the future of the sole proprietorship and strengthens AQUA Group GmbH’s position in the damage restoration sector.

Ensuring an orderly business succession is currently one of the biggest challenges for small and medium-sized companies. In many cases, it is not possible or strategically sensible to pass on a family business to the next generation. Steinmeyer Sanierungen, a Swabian medium-sized sole proprietorship specialising in water, fire and natural disaster damage restoration, as well as timber installation and wood chipping, decided to sell its restoration division to an AQUA Group subsidiary by way of an asset deal. AQUA Group GmbH employs approx. 650 people at 46 business locations. With this acquisition, the company specialising in damage restoration will be expanding its local presence and its service portfolio, while at the same time safeguarding jobs and ensuring continuity of service for the customers. The BBH group provided comprehensive advice and assistance to the seller throughout the transaction – from the contract negotiations to their successful signing in June 2026.
