BBH advises solar power company DZ-4 in the context of €20m deal

Solar leasing company DZ-4 receives €20m from a German investor to implement 1,400 solar power projects. The law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) has assisted DZ-4 with comprehensive legal advice in the context of the deal.

To lease or to buy? This question is one that people have to consider not only in re-gard to real estate but also when it comes to PV installations. Since 2012, DZ-4 GmbH has been leasing solar installations and storage systems to homeowners. The company regards itself as market leader in this segment. With the assistance of BBH, DZ-4 will now realise a further 1,400 solar projects, which are to be transferred to a project company.

BBH partner Jan-Hendrik vom Wege and BBH lawyer Lars Schlüter developed the corporate structure as well as all necessary contracts for the transaction in the framework of the deal, which has a total volume of €20m. This has already been the third time that the investor and DZ-4 have collaborated. “The energy industry offers great creative freedom for innovative business models. DZ-4 has shown how com-panies can tap this potential with a smart business strategy while also becoming at-tractive to the conservative investment market,” states vom Wege in regard to the deal. “We are delighted about the trust that DZ-4 has placed in us since its founda-tion and that we are allowed to accompany our client closely on its successful path.”
