Dr. Sascha Michaels currently focuses on advising local authorities and public companies (particularly municipal energy utility and transport companies) on procurement and State aid law. His practice ranges from assessing and reviewing individual legal aspects to providing comprehensive advice on the design of tender procedures. Dr. Sascha Michaels also represents clients in court and before public procurement tribunals.

• 1996-1999 research assistant at the chair of public law, international and European law (Prof. Dr. Werner Meng) at Halle University
• 1999-2001 legal traineeship at the Court of Appeal, Berlin
• Since 2001 lawyer at BBH Berlin
• 2002 doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) at Halle University on a topic of European law
• Since 2010 partner counsel at BBH
• Since 2017 specialist lawyer for procurement law
