Dr. Holger Hoch advises clients in matters of European and German antitrust law, including issues of contract law, merger control and control of abusive practices as well as the law on damages. He also represents clients in legal proceedings and administrative procedures in the context of antitrust cases. His practice also includes advice on concession law.

  • Married with one child
  • 1997-2002 studies of law in Berlin with a special focus on antitrust and competition law
  • 2002-2005 research associate at the Institute for Energy and Regulatory Law Berlin (Prof. Dr. Dr. Säcker)
  • 2005-2007 legal traineeship in Berlin with placements at, among others, the Brandenburg competition authority and the European Commission (Directorate-General for Competition/Energy and Environment)
  • Since 2008 lawyer at BBH Berlin
  • 2011 doctorate on German and European merger control
  • Since 2013 partner counsel at BBH
  • Member of Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V. (association of German-speaking lawyers specialising in competition law)
  • Publishes and lectures widely on concession and antitrust law
  • Co-editor of the handbook on energy antitrust law “Handbuch Energiekartellrecht” (together with Prof. Dr. Haucap, published by de Gruyter, Berlin, in 2018)
