BBH’s parliamentary evening: Come and join the engine room of the climate transition

What solutions are needed in addition to wind and photovoltaics to complement our energy system in the short and long run? This is the central as well as topical issue that the law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) decided to address with its parliamentary evening: On 16 May, the energy industry will discuss possible answers with representatives from the Bundestag parliamentary groups in Berlin.

While the German economy is to become climate-neutral by 2045, the energy industry is to achieve this goal by an earlier date as stipulated by the so-called “Easter Package”. Already by 2035, the electricity generation is set to reach net-zero GHG emissions. Being “the biggest energy policy revision for decades”, the Easter Package aims at creating the prerequisites for achieving this goal. One thing, however, is clear. The transformation of the energy system requires further technologies in addition to wind and photovoltaics as well as improved framework conditions.

Identifying such potential technologies will be the subject of the debate at BBH’s parliamentary evening on 16 May held under the auspices of Member of the Bundestag Bernd Westphal. Representatives from the various Bundestag parliamentary groups as well as Andreas Kuhlmann (dena) and Dr. Peter Feldhaus (Onyx Germany GmbH) will provide their perspective to stimulate discussion.

When: 16/05/2022, 17:45 hrs to 23:00 hrs

Where: Deutsche Parlamentarische Gesellschaft (German Parliamentary Society)
